What is the Fugo connector for Claude?

The Fugo connector lets you control your Fugo digital signage network from a conversation with Claude — Anthropic's AI assistant. Ask Claude what's playing on a screen, upload new media, create playlists, or trigger a content swap during a live event, all without leaving the chat.

Under the hood the connector uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for safely connecting AI assistants to external tools and data. Claude can only see and change content that your Fugo account already has access to — no more, no less.

What you'll need

  • An active Fugo account at fugo.ai.

  • A Claude.ai account, or Claude Desktop installed on your computer.

  • A web browser for the one-time sign-in step.

No developer keys, command-line tools, or admin seats required. If you can sign in at fugo.ai, you can use the connector.

Set up the connector in Claude.ai

  1. In Claude.ai, open the Connectors menu (look for the puzzle-piece or plug icon in the chat composer).

  2. Find Fugo in the directory and click Connect.

  3. A Fugo sign-in window opens. Enter your usual Fugo email and password.

  4. Approve the connection. You'll be returned to Claude.ai with Fugo now listed as an active connector.

That's it — you can start asking Claude to do things in your Fugo account.

Set up the connector in Claude Desktop

  1. Open Claude Desktop and go to Settings → Connectors.

  2. Click Add custom connector.

  3. Enter the Fugo server URL: https://api.fugo.ai/mcp

  4. Claude Desktop opens a browser window for Fugo sign-in. Enter your Fugo email and password.

  5. Approve the connection. Claude Desktop will confirm Fugo is connected.

What you can ask Claude to do

The connector covers six broad areas:

  • Look around your account — list your Spaces, screens, playlists, media library, content, dashboards, and screen properties.

  • Add media — upload from a URL, attach a file from a chat, or paste bytes directly. Files are stored in folders you choose.

  • Create playlists — pick the screens (by name, by Space, or by property like region or store-format), pick the media or dashboards to play, and set the dates.

  • Create manual triggers — set up a Play Once, Play Loop, or Standby trigger you can fire later for events, announcements, or emergencies.

  • Refresh content already on screens — update a media item's bytes and every playlist that uses it picks up the new version automatically.

  • Audit and report — ask questions like "what's playing on the London screens right now?" or "which playlists haven't been updated in 30 days?"

Example prompts

Try copying these into Claude as starting points:

  • "Upload https://cdn.acme.com/winter-sale.mp4 to the Holiday Playlists folder in our Marketing space, then create a playlist called 'Winter Sale 2026' that runs it on every UK screen from Dec 20 through Jan 5."

  • "List all screens in our London Spaces and show which playlist each one is running right now."

  • "Create a manual Standby trigger called 'Birmingham Fire Drill' that targets every screen in the Birmingham Warehouse space — I'll activate it from my phone when the alarm goes off."

  • "Take the latest 'Spring Lookbook' video from my SharePoint and publish it to a new playlist on the flagship store screens."

  • "Update the 'Weekly Deal' media item with this week's version from https://cdn.acme.com/deals/w22.mp4 — every screen already playing it should switch to the new file on the next loop."

Claude will ask you to confirm any action that changes data before it runs.

Permissions and security

  • Same permissions as in the CMS. Claude can only see and modify content that your Fugo user account already has access to. If you're not allowed to edit a Space in the CMS, Claude can't edit it either.

  • Sign-in is OAuth 2.1. Your Fugo password is never sent to Anthropic. Claude receives a short-lived token that lets it call the connector on your behalf, and you can revoke that token any time from your Fugo account settings.

  • Confirmation before changes. Claude asks you to confirm before uploading, creating, or updating anything in Fugo.

  • You can disconnect at any time. In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open the Connectors settings and remove Fugo. All access stops immediately.

Troubleshooting

  • "Claude can't see my Spaces" — make sure you finished the OAuth sign-in step. Try removing and re-adding the connector if the issue persists.

  • "Upload from URL failed" — the URL must be publicly accessible (no login required). If your file lives in a private SharePoint or Google Drive folder, generate a public share link first, or ask Claude to use a different upload method.

  • "Claude created the wrong playlist" — be specific about Space name, screens, and dates in your prompt. Claude will confirm the details before running the action so you can catch mistakes early.

  • "I want to test without affecting real screens" — create a test Space in Fugo with a couple of demo screens and ask Claude to operate inside that Space only.
