Microsoft Teams Rooms can display digital signage when a room is idle. By connecting a Teams Room to Fugo, you can show dashboards, announcements, room schedules, workplace updates, and other content whenever a meeting isn’t in progress.

When a meeting starts, Microsoft Teams takes over the display. When the meeting ends, Fugo resumes playback automatically.

Before you begin

You’ll need:

  • An active Fugo account or trial account (sign up here.)

  • Content already set up in Fugo, such as a playlist, media file, dashboard, or app

  • Access to the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal

  • A Microsoft admin account

  • A configured Microsoft Teams Room device

Pair a screen to Fugo

First, you’ll pair a Fugo screen in your account.

1. Open https://player.fugo.ai/ in your browser. You’ll see a pairing code on screen.

2. In a new tab, open Fugo CMS: https://fugo.ai/app.

3. Log in to your account.

4. Go to the Screens page and click Add Screen.

5. Enter the pairing code you copied and complete the pairing flow.

6. Give your screen a name that makes it easy to identify later, such as the room name or location. Add any labels or screen properties that you've saved in your account if you wish to. That will finish the pairing process.

7. Assign a playlist or other content to the screen. You can do this from your Playlists page.

You can either create a new playlist by clicking Create Playlist:

Or open an existing playlist, click Edit, and add your new screen to that playlist when prompted on step 2:

8. Once you've assigned content to your new screen, go back to the player.fugo.ai tab. Your assigned content should now be playing on it.

9. Copy the URL from your browser's address bar. You'll use this URL when configuring Microsoft Teams Rooms.

Configure Microsoft Teams Rooms to display Fugo content

Now you’ll add your Fugo player URL as a digital signage source in the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal.

1. In a new tab, open the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal:

2. Log in with your Microsoft admin account.

3. In the sidebar, go to Settings → Digital signage and click Add source.

4. Give your source a name, such as Fugo Signage, and click Next.

5. Select Custom.

Paste the unique URL you copied from the Fugo player into the URL field, then click Next.

6. Acknowledge the terms by clicking Next.

7. Review the details and click Submit, then Done.

8. Your Fugo source has now been added.

9. In the sidebar, go to Rooms and select the Teams Room where you want to display Fugo content.

10. In the room settings pop-up, go to Settings → Digital signage and configure the following:

  • Turn Digital signage on

  • Turn Show Teams Rooms banner on

  • Set the idle display period before signage activates

We recommend setting the idle display period to 1 minute.

11. Scroll down and configure the following:

  • Turn Allow screen timeout when device is idle off

  • Set Signage source to the Fugo source you created in steps 2–6

12. Click Apply → Apply now → Submit → Skip and Close.

💡 Note: The settings will be applied in the background. It may take a few minutes for the changes to take effect on your Teams Room device.

That’s it. Once your Teams Room has been idle for the configured period, it will automatically begin displaying your Fugo content.

When a meeting starts, Teams takes over. When the meeting ends, Fugo resumes playback.
