Deploying Fugo on Sony BRAVIA displays with Zero-Touch Provisioning

Install Fugo Player on compatible Sony BRAVIA Professional Displays during first-time setup, without using Google Play or manually installing the app.

Rolling out more than a couple of Sony BRAVIA Professional Displays? With Sony Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP), each display installs Fugo Player by itself during first-time setup.

Nobody has to open Google Play, sideload an APK, or type anything on the TV. You unbox the display, connect it to the internet, and it comes up running Fugo.

This works with Sony BRAVIA Professional Displays (BZ series). Consumer BRAVIA TVs don’t support it.

How it works, in short

  1. You send us the MAC address of each display.

  2. We register the displays with Sony.

  3. During the TV’s first-time setup, it shows a 6-digit One-Time-Code. You share the code with us.

  4. The display installs Fugo Player and our recommended settings on its own.

  5. You pair the screen in Fugo, same as any other screen.

What you need

  • Sony BRAVIA Professional Displays (BZ series).

  • Internet at the install site, Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

  • A Fugo account with an available screen license for each display.

  • The MAC address of each display. It’s printed on the carton label, next to a QR code. A photo of the labels is all we need.

Step 1: Send us the MAC address/es

Message us on live chat in Fugo with the MAC address of each display you want provisioned. Do this before install day; registration on Sony’s side is quick, but you don’t want to be waiting on it with a ladder out.

One detail worth knowing: if a display has an Ethernet port, Sony registers its Ethernet MAC, even if you plan to connect it over Wi-Fi. The carton label shows the right one.

Step 2: We register the display/s

Nothing for you to do here. We register each MAC with Sony and confirm in chat when the displays are ready to provision.

Step 3: Unbox, connect, and share the One-Time-Code

  1. Mount the display, connect it to the network, and power it on.

  2. Follow the first-time setup wizard until the display is online.

  3. The display shows a 6-digit One-Time-Code.

  4. Send us the code in live chat. We confirm it, and provisioning starts on the spot.

  5. The display downloads Fugo Player and applies its settings. This takes a few minutes and the display may restart.

The code confirmation is a live step, so keep the chat open while you set up. Provisioning several screens in one session works fine; send the codes one by one as they appear.

Step 4: Pair the screen to Fugo CMS

When provisioning finishes, the display launches Fugo Player and shows a pairing PIN.

  1. In Fugo, go to Screens and click Add screen.

  2. Enter the PIN from the display.

Notes

  • ZTP runs only during first-time setup. A display that has already been through setup needs a factory reset to provision this way.

  • If the display never shows a One-Time-Code, the usual cause is a MAC that wasn’t registered, or the Wi-Fi MAC being sent for a display that has an Ethernet port. Ping us in chat and we’ll check the registration.

  • ZTP installs the app and baseline settings. Your content, playlists, and schedules come from pairing the screen in Fugo, like on any other platform.

  • Resellers and integrators: you can run steps 3 and 4 at your warehouse and ship displays fully configured. At the final site the screen just needs power and internet.
