Table of contents
This is not a player install. Installing the CMS as a desktop app does not put content on a digital signage screen. For that, use the Hardware setup guides. It is also different from Local App Casting (sharing a desktop app onto a screen).
What you get
You can install Fugo CMS 2.0 as a desktop app on your computer. It opens in its own window, with a taskbar or Dock icon, so you can jump into the CMS without hunting for a browser tab.
Once installed, Fugo CMS runs like other desktop apps:
Its own window (separate from your browser tabs)
A shortcut on your taskbar (Windows) or Dock (macOS)
An entry in your Start menu or Applications list, depending on the browser and OS

When the install banner appears
CMS 2.0 can show a banner titled Add Fugo to your desktop (subtitle: Open the CMS in its own window.) when:
You are signed in to Fugo CMS 2.0 in a Chromium desktop browser that supports install (Chrome or Edge)
Your account is engaged — you have at least one screen and one playlist
The CMS is not already running as an installed app
You have not dismissed or ignored the banner within the last 30 days
You are not currently casting (the banner is withheld while a cast is active)
If those conditions are not met, the banner stays hidden. You can still install from the browser menu when your browser offers it.

How to install
To access the CMS, log into your account or start a free trial here.
When the install banner appears, choose Install.
Confirm the browser’s install dialog.
The CMS opens in its own window. Pin it to the taskbar or Dock if you want it always one click away.
Choosing Not now (or simply ignoring the banner) dismisses it without installing. It will not reappear for 30 days. If you click Install and then cancel the browser dialog, that does not burn the 30-day window — the banner can show again when your browser re-offers install.

Install from the browser menu
If you do not see the banner but your browser supports installing the site as an app:
Chrome / Edge (Windows or macOS): open the browser menu → look for Install page as app / Install Fugo / Apps → Install.
Exact menu labels vary by browser version. If Install is missing, the browser does not currently treat the CMS as installable, or it is already installed. Safari and Firefox typically do not offer this flow the same way.

Sign-in after install
Installing does not sign you out or move any data. The desktop app uses the same Fugo account and workspace as the browser. After install, the CMS reopens in its own window — you stay signed in with your existing session.
How to remove the desktop app
Windows (Chrome or Edge)
Open the installed Fugo CMS window.
Open the app menu in the title bar → Uninstall, or
From Chrome open chrome://apps (or Edge edge://apps) → right-click Fugo → Remove.

macOS (Chrome or Edge)
Open the installed app → app menu → Uninstall, or
Quit the app, then remove it from Applications / the Dock the same way you remove other Chromium-installed apps.
Troubleshooting
I never see the banner
Confirm you have at least one screen and one playlist.
Try Chrome or Edge on desktop (not Safari, Firefox, or a phone browser).
Check you are not already running the installed app.
If you chose Not now recently, wait 30 days or use the browser Install menu.
If you are casting, finish the cast — the banner is withheld while casting is active.
Install is missing from the browser menu
The site may not meet install criteria in that browser, or the app is already installed. Try another Chromium browser, or contact support.
I installed the wrong thing
Player apps and the Web Player put content on screens. This desktop install only opens the CMS for managing content. Uninstall this app and use the Hardware guides for player setup.
