What is Fugo's on-premise dashboard solution?
Fugo's Dashboards feature normally works from the cloud: our servers visit your dashboard's URL, sign in, and take a screenshot to display on your screens. That's the right approach for dashboards reachable over the public internet - but some organizations self-host dashboards, reports, or internal tools that are only reachable from inside their own network.
For those, Fugo's On-Premise Dashboards feature lets you run the sign-in-and-screenshot process on a dedicated machine you control, on your own network, instead of in Fugo's cloud. That machine then sends the resulting screenshot up to Fugo, which distributes it to any of your connected players - even ones on a completely different network from the on-premise server itself. No dashboard data or login credentials need to be reachable from the public internet at any point.
💡 Note: If instead you'd rather have the digital signage player itself do the signing-in and screenshotting - with no separate server machine involved at all - that's a related but different feature called Local Player. See our Local Player Dashboards guide. Both options live under the same "On-Premise" settings tab in Fugo, described below, so it's worth knowing which one you actually want before you start.
If you want to share a dashboard that lives inside a desktop app rather than a browser, that's a separate feature too. See our Local App Casting guide instead.
Setting up your on-premise dashboard
Install the Fugo TV Dashboards Control Center app
On a machine that stays on and connected to your network - this is the "server" in on-premise server - download and run the Control Center app from fugo.ai/fop.exe. It installs without asking for any extra configuration, and once it's running, it automatically starts itself whenever the machine boots and prevents the machine from going to sleep, so it stays available to run your dashboard steps on schedule.
☝️ Confirm the app name and download link with our team before relying on this step if it's been a while since you last set this up - desktop tooling like this occasionally gets renamed or moved independently of the rest of the product.
Set up your player
Fugo runs as a web-based player application on almost any consumer or professional display or media player device. Install and pair the Fugo player app to your Fugo CMS account by following the instructions for your device in our hardware help center, which covers the Fugo NUC and other Windows or Mac mini PCs, Android media players, Chrome OS devices, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSSP) displays, LG displays, BrightSign players, and Raspberry Pi.
You'll pair your device to Fugo from inside our CMS. If you don't have an account yet, you can start a free 14-day trial first.
Configure your on-premise dashboard in Fugo CMS
1. Sign in to your Fugo account, click Dashboards in the top navigation, then Create Dashboard.
2. Choose the card matching your platform if it has one, or Custom URL if it doesn't, and complete the setup form (URL, Authentication Method, and credentials) as you would for a cloud dashboard.
3. Click Create Dashboard when you're done. Fugo will then attempt to open your dashboard URL and use your login credentials to access it and render a screenshot of it. While it's going through this process you can either save your dashboard or continue to step 4 to complete the on-premise configuration.
4. Open your new dashboard and go to its On-Premise tab.
4. Turn on Use on-premises server for running steps.
5. Open the Control Center app on your server machine, and copy the following three values into the matching fields in Fugo CMS:
Local IP
The IP address of your on-premise server itself, on your local network — this is the address your players will send requests to.
Remote IP
Your server's public-facing IP address. Fugo CMS only accepts step and credential requests that come from the Remote IP you've registered here, so an on-premise server can't be impersonated from an unrecognized network address.
Public Key
An SSH public key that Fugo uses to verify and encrypt communication with your server. Every request between your on-premise server and Fugo's cloud is signed and verified against this key, and any credentials Fugo sends back are encrypted specifically for it - so login credentials are never transmitted in a form anyone other than your paired server could read.
Once those three fields are filled in and saved, your on-premise server is paired with this dashboard.
Publishing your dashboard to your screens
Once your on-premise dashboard has a working screenshot, you have two options for getting it onto a screen:
Add it directly to a playlist
Go to Playlists, create or open a playlist, select your screen(s), and add your on-premise dashboard from the Dashboards tab when choosing content.

Customize it in the Design Studio first
Open Studio, start a new design, and add your dashboard from your saved Dashboards library:
From there you can crop it, add your company logo or brand colors, or combine it with other live content - a clock, local weather, or a news ticker - before adding the finished design to a playlist.
Either way, once it's added to a playlist and published, your on-premise dashboard will appear on your connected screens on the same refresh schedule as any other dashboard. Because on-premise and Local Player dashboards don't have to travel through the public internet, they aren't subject to the same daily refresh cap that applies to cloud dashboards on some plans - depending on your plan, an on-premise dashboard can refresh as often as once a minute.
