Fugo & your Salesforce dashboard
Fugo's Salesforce app lets you display a live Salesforce dashboard on your digital signage screens without leaving a browser tab open and logged in on a device near your screen.
Instead of streaming your dashboard from an open, signed-in browser session, Fugo signs in to Salesforce on a schedule using credentials you provide once, captures an up-to-date screenshot of your dashboard, and displays that image on screen like any other piece of content. Your credentials and any secret key are encrypted and stored securely, and you control how often Fugo refreshes the screenshot.
For Salesforce specifically, Fugo also knows to look for and click Salesforce's own Refresh button on your dashboard a few seconds after the page loads (it renders inside a nested frame on Lightning dashboards), so the screenshot reflects current data rather than a stale, cached view.
Note: The Dashboards feature is available by booking a demo call with our team. During the call, we'll walk through what's needed to set up your dashboard and enable the feature on your account or trial afterward.
Best practices for using Salesforce with Fugo
Before you connect your dashboard, a few recommendations that will help keep your Salesforce dashboard running smoothly in Fugo:
Create a dedicated service account
Create a dedicated, least-privileged (read-only where possible) Salesforce account for Fugo to use, rather than an individual employee's login. This avoids interruptions from unexpected logouts, security alerts, or phone-number-linked recovery prompts, and limits what Fugo can access in your Salesforce org.
You can find instructions for setting up a dedicated service account with Google Workspace here.
Have your dashboard URL ready
You'll need the URL of the specific Salesforce dashboard or report you want to display – not just your org's login URL. Open the dashboard in Salesforce, copy its URL, and keep it handy for the setup steps below.
Set your Salesforce password policy to "Never expires"
If Salesforce prompts your service account to change its password on a schedule, Fugo can't get past that prompt on its own, and your dashboard will stop refreshing until someone manually signs in and updates the password. To avoid recapturing your dashboard every time a password expires, set your service account's password policy to never expire. Salesforce's own instructions for this are here.

Sign-in methods Salesforce supports
When you connect a Salesforce dashboard, Fugo checks that your URL is a Salesforce Lightning URL (on the lightning.force.com domain), then asks you to choose how Fugo should sign in. Salesforce supports three sign-in methods:
Sign in with Salesforce
Fugo signs in directly with your Salesforce username and password, the same as logging in to your org without an identity provider in between.
Sign in with Okta
If your organization uses Okta to sign in to Salesforce (single sign-on), choose this option and Fugo will follow Okta's sign-in flow before landing back in Salesforce.
Sign in with Google
If your organization uses Google to sign in to Salesforce, choose this option and Fugo will follow Google's sign-in flow before landing back in Salesforce.
Get a Secret Key (for SSO)
A Secret Key is the same kind of alphanumeric seed value an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator or Authy) uses to generate a time-based one-time code (TOTP). Fugo uses it to generate the correct 2FA code automatically each time it signs in, so you won't need to re-authenticate manually. How you get this key depends on how you sign in to Salesforce.
I sign in with Okta or Google
If you use Okta or Google to sign in to Salesforce, get your secret key from that provider:
👉 Using a different identity provider? Many other SAML-based platforms work with Fugo as long as they support a TOTP-based authenticator app. See our guide to using SAML & other SSO providers with Fugo.
I sign in directly with Salesforce
If you don't use an identity provider, you'll get your secret key by setting up a Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) authenticator app directly on your Salesforce account:
1. Open your profile settings and go to Advanced User Details under My Personal Information.
2. Go to App Registration: One-Time Password Authenticator and click Connect.
3. Verify your identity (Salesforce will typically email you a verification code), then click Verify.
4. On the next screen, click I can't Scan the QR Code to reveal the secret key as text. Copy and save it securely – you'll need it again shortly.
5. Enter that secret key into an authenticator app (any TOTP app works – for example Google Authenticator, or a desktop app like Step Two) to generate a verification code, then enter that code back into Salesforce to complete setup.
🔑 Save this secret key for the next section – you'll enter it in Fugo when you configure your dashboard below.
Configure your Salesforce dashboard in Fugo's Salesforce app
With your secret key saved, you're ready to connect your dashboard in Fugo.
1. Log in to your Fugo account. If you don't have one yet, start your free trial at www.fugo.ai/app.
2. Go to Dashboards in the left-hand navigation, then click Create Dashboard.
3. Under Browse dashboards, select the Salesforce tile.
4. Enter the URL of your specific Salesforce dashboard. Fugo checks that it's on the lightning.force.com domain before letting you continue.
5. Choose your authentication method: Sign in with Salesforce, Sign in with Okta, or Sign in with Google.
6. Enter your username, password, and secret key as described above.
7. Click Create dashboard.
8. This opens the dashboard editor. In the background, Fugo uses your URL and credentials to sign in and capture a screenshot – this can take a minute or two. You can close the editor and come back later, or configure settings while you wait (see Edit your dashboard – advanced settings below).
9. Give your dashboard a name – you'll need one to save it.
⚠️ If your dashboard preview doesn't generate or you see an error, click Edit and check your credentials and URL first – and double check your password hasn't been set to expire (see the best practice above). If you're still stuck, reach out to support@fugo.ai or use the support chat in the CMS.
10. Once saved, your dashboard appears in your Dashboards library with a default refresh interval of once per day.
Customize your dashboard display in the Design Studio
Not every dashboard is "screen ready" as-is – some are long, dense, or have small elements that are hard to read from a distance.
Add your saved dashboard to a Design Studio canvas to crop it down to just the chart or panel you need, and combine it with other apps, text, or media on the same slide. Open (or start) a Studio design, find your dashboard under the Dashboards panel, and drag it onto the canvas.
From there you can crop, resize, and combine it with other elements, then publish the design to a playlist the same way described below.

Publish your dashboard to a screen
A dashboard isn't published directly from the editor or your library. Instead:
1. Open (or create) a playlist, and add your dashboard to it as a content item.
2. Target that playlist to the screen(s) you want it to appear on.
3. Publish the playlist.
The same dashboard can be reused across multiple playlists and screens – updating and saving it updates everywhere it's used, so you don't need to republish each screen individually.

Edit your dashboard – advanced settings
Clicking your dashboard in the library opens the dashboard editor, where you can adjust the Refresh Interval (how often Fugo re-captures your dashboard), resolution, and other capture settings, and choose whether Fugo runs the sign-in/capture steps in the cloud, on your own on-premise server, or on the player device itself.
These settings work the same way for every dashboard type.
👉 See the full breakdown – including Resolution, Pause duration, Memory, Proxy region, and On-Premise/Local Player options – in our Dashboards Overview.
