How billing works at Fugo

Fugo is billed per screen license. A license is what turns on Fugo for one physical screen (or one virtual screen - those are billed at the same rate as a physical screen). Your subscription covers your whole account, and how many licenses you're paying for is simply how many screens you've told Fugo you want to run at once.

Behind the scenes, subscriptions and payments are handled by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. That's why some of what you see during checkout or on your Billing tab - like saved cards, invoices, and payment method options - will look familiar if you've used Stripe-powered billing elsewhere. Fugo doesn't store your card details directly; that stays with Stripe.

Every account starts on a free trial before any payment is involved. Once you're ready to continue past the trial, you subscribe to one of three plans, and from there you can add or remove licenses, change plans, or update your payment details at any time without needing to contact support (though our team is always happy to help with any of it).

Pricing plans

Fugo offers three plans: Essential, Core, and Enterprise. Each plan unlocks a wider set of features, and pricing is per screen license rather than a flat account fee - so your bill scales with how many screens you're actually running.

💡 Tip: Per-screen pricing changes from time to time, so rather than list numbers here that can go stale, the most current pricing always lives at www.fugo.ai/pricing, or inside your account under the Upgrade plan tab, which shows live pricing for your currency and billing schedule.

Essential

Essential is built for smaller teams putting content on storefronts, lobbies, waiting areas, or other simple customer-facing spaces. It includes the core building blocks of Fugo: Design Studio, screen management suite, templates, free apps, web page/link content, touch-enabled interactive content, and the full playlist builder with advanced scheduling.

There's no minimum screen count, and you can pay monthly or annually.

Core

Core is aimed at teams who need integrations, dashboard visibility, and more advanced tools - for example, offices or frontline environments where staff need to see live business data alongside signage content.

It includes everything in Essential, plus premium apps (like Power BI, Looker, and Grafana Cloud), TV Dashboards, screen casting/mirroring, virtual screens, and custom resolution support for video walls.

There's no minimum screen count, and you can choose monthly or annual billing.

Enterprise

Enterprise is designed for larger or more complex deployments - organizations with advanced security, compliance, or IT requirements. It includes everything in Core, plus on-premise dashboards, local app casting, a Fugo API key, player variables, Single Sign-On (including IdP-initiated SSO), and event notification emails.

Enterprise is billed annually only. There's no required minimum screen count to be on the plan, but volume discounts become available once you reach 35 screens or more.

Discounts

Fugo offers discounts for non-profits, startups, and religious organizations. These are applied through coupon codes that our team shares directly with qualifying customers - reach out to sales@fugo.ai to check whether you qualify.

If you already have a code, you can apply it in the promo/coupon code field during checkout when you first subscribe or upgrade.

Where to manage your billing

Get to your billing settings by opening it from the Account menu at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar:

Inside Settings, billing is split across up to three tabs depending on your account: Billing, Upgrade plan, and (for accounts using space-based licensing) Space Billing:

The Billing tab

This is your subscription's home base. It's organized into a few focused cards.

Your plan

Shows your current plan name and a status badge (for example, Active in green, or Past due/Unpaid/Canceled shown in red).

Below that, you'll see:

  • your screen and virtual screen usage against your license count (e.g. "8/10")

  • your renewal date

  • your payment schedule (monthly or yearly)

  • your current account balance (any credit or amount owed outside a normal invoice, applied automatically towards your next bill)

You can cancel your subscription from the 3-dot menu next to your plan's name:

A Update screen license count button lets you add or remove licenses on the spot - see Adding and removing screen licenses below

Payments & invoices

A tabbed table of your past payments and invoices, each showing the amount, status, and date:

Click the 3-dot overflow menu next to an item to download the invoice or receipt of payment:

Billing information

A plain-language summary of your subscription: how many screen licenses you're currently on, your next billing date, and the exact amount you'll be charged on that date.

Billing contact details

Your company name, billing email, phone number, and billing address. This is where invoices and billing correspondence are sent, and it doesn't need to match the email address you log in with.

To update any of these details, click Change billing information to open a form where you can edit them directly.

Your payment methods

Lists any cards on file (with a "Default" badge on the one that's charged automatically), plus buttons to add a new payment method or request an alternative payment option (see Accepted payment methods below).

💡 If you don't currently have an active subscription (for example, after cancelling), the plan card will instead show "No active plan" with an option to subscribe again.

The Upgrade plan tab

This is where you compare plans side by side and actually subscribe or switch tiers.

It has a Monthly/Annual toggle (annual billing generally saves you money over paying monthly), a currency toggle for USD, GBP, or EUR, and a full feature comparison table across Essential, Core, and Enterprise so you can see exactly what changes between tiers before committing.

Click Upgrade or Downgrade on the plan you want to switch to.

The Space Billing tab

If your account uses Spaces to organize screens and teams into separate workspaces, you may also see a Space Billing tab.

This lets you cap how many screen licenses each individual space is allowed to use out of your account's shared pool, rather than leaving licenses available to any space on a first-come basis. This is a newer option - if you're not using Spaces, or your account hasn't opted into per-space license limits, you won't see this tab and don't need to worry about it.

To enable it, click Enable space-based licensing:

The dialog shows your current usage as a bar (e.g. "6 / 8 screens"), and a stepper labeled Licenses where you dial in the number you want using the + and - buttons on each space's row in the table.

When you're increasing your count, new licenses are available instantly - there's no waiting period before you can pair the additional screens. When decreasing, you can't go below however many screens are currently paired and using a license; you'll need to unpair a screen first if you want to drop below that floor.

Click Turn off to turn off space-based licensing at any time:

Accepted payment methods

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Fugo supports the following payment methods, with availability depending on your billing region:

  • Credit or debit card - accepted from all major providers, available to every customer regardless of region.

  • Bank transfer - for customers who prefer to settle invoices directly from a bank account rather than by card.

  • ACH direct debit - for US-based customers paying via automated clearing house transfer.

  • Bacs Direct Debit - for UK-based customers paying via direct debit.

  • Canadian pre-authorized debit (PAD) - for Canadian customers paying via direct debit authorization.

  • SEPA Direct Debit - for customers in the Eurozone paying via direct debit.

  • Link - Stripe's saved-payment-details service, letting you check out faster on future payments without re-entering card information.

We don't accept payment by check.

If you choose invoicing instead of paying by card, your invoice will include everything you need for a bank transfer: routing/account details for a virtual bank account that Stripe sets up and manages on Fugo's behalf, with funds settling into an account Stripe holds at Wells Fargo.

If your finance or procurement team wants a letter confirming the account before wiring funds, reach out to sales@fugo.ai and we'll provide one.

You can pay in USD, GBP, or EUR. Choose your currency when you subscribe or upgrade.

Your free trial

New Fugo accounts start on a 14-day free trial, and we don't ask for a credit card up front - you can explore the product without any payment commitment.

Almost every plan feature is available to try during your trial (Dashboards being the one exception. You will need to request access to from the Dashboards page.)

Once you're roughly a day into your trial, you'll start seeing a dismissible reminder in your sidebar nudging you to add a payment method before the trial ends. If your trial ends and you still haven't added one, that reminder becomes a persistent, non-dismissible alert telling you your trial has ended and prompting you to subscribe. Clicking either alert takes you straight to the Billing settings.

To avoid any disruption to your account once your trial period is up, we recommend adding a payment method and choosing a plan before the 14 days are over. If you decide Fugo isn't the right fit, you don't need to do anything - nothing gets charged automatically since no card was required to start.

Subscription status and what happens if payment fails

Your subscription is always in one of a few states: Active, Trialing, Past due, Unpaid, Paused, Incomplete, or Canceled. You can see your current status as a badge on the Plan card in your Billing tab.

If a scheduled charge fails - for example, an expired card - your account moves to Past due, and you'll see a persistent "Payment failed" alert asking you to update your payment method to keep your screens running. If there's no payment method on file at all, you'll see the same "Trial expired"-style prompt to subscribe described above. In rarer cases, an account can be suspended outright, in which case you'll see an "Account suspended" message asking you to update billing or contact support.

In every case, resolving it is the same: head to your Billing tab and add or update a payment method, or reach out to billing@fugo.ai if you're not sure what's going on with your account.

Adding and removing screen licenses

Your Billing tab shows how many screen licenses you have and how many are currently in use. You can adjust that count at any time from the Update screen license count button:

💡 The same dialog also appears automatically if you try to pair a new screen and you have no available licenses.

Adding screens & purchasing new licenses during the pairing process is a perfectly valid way to update your license count as well.

If you've enabled space-based licensing, you'll be directed to allocate licenses via the Space Billing tab instead:

💡 Remember that virtual screens count as screen licenses too - one virtual screen uses one license, the same as one physical screen.

How proration works

Whenever you change your license count or switch plans, Fugo bills you the difference right away rather than waiting for your next renewal date - this is what "prorated" means here. In practice:

Adding licenses or upgrading your plan takes effect immediately, and you're charged an invoice for the prorated difference straight away - calculated for just the remaining time left in your current billing period. For example, if you're on a monthly plan that renews on the 1st and you add a screen on the 20th, you're charged a prorated amount covering the 11 days left in that cycle. From your next renewal onward, the new screen is simply part of your regular invoice like any other.

Removing licenses or downgrading your plan takes effect at the end of your current billing period rather than immediately - so you'll keep whatever you currently have access to until the cycle you're already paying for finishes, and the change (and reduced charge) applies starting next cycle.

This applies the same way whether you're on a monthly or annual plan - the only difference an annual plan makes is that your per-screen price is calculated as a yearly rate rather than a monthly one; the proration math for adding a screen mid-cycle works the same either way.

Changing your plan

You choose your plan and billing schedule when you first subscribe, but you're not locked in. To switch tiers or change between monthly and yearly billing, go to the Upgrade plan tab and select the plan you want:

Use the Monthly/Annual toggle to select your payment frequency, then click Upgrade or Downgrade

Moving to a higher tier applies immediately, and you're billed the prorated difference right away (see proration above). Moving to a lower tier takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep your current tier's features until then.

Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel any time from the 3-dot overflow menu on your Plan card in the Billing tab:

Once cancelled, your account moves to a Canceled status and the Plan card will show that you don't have an active subscription.

If you'd like your account and its data permanently deleted rather than just cancelled, email support@fugo.ai - cancelling your subscription on its own does not delete your account or content.
