Understanding Windows' advantages for digital signage
Fugo allows you to display your digital signage content with a wide range of supported Windows devices - tablets, mini PCs, and sticks.
Granted, they do not come cheap, but relying on Windows infrastructure for a digital signage project offers some advantages that add up at scale:
Fleet deployment through Microsoft Intune: Windows is the only platform where you can install, update and manage the Fugo player across a whole estate from your existing endpoint management tooling. If you are rolling out more than a handful of screens and already run Intune, this is the strongest reason to choose Windows over a cheaper stick.
Broad compatibility and integration: Windows devices - and especially the Fugo Player - are well-suited to businesses that already rely and train their teams on Windows-based infrastructure and peripherals.
Security: Windows mini PCs are battle tested, with security measures that are regularly updated by Microsoft.
Powerful media & web performance: Most importantly, Windows Intel devices, like the Fugo Player, tend to offer superior performance for complex applications and rich media. They are performant and reliable, resulting in smooth video playback and fewer crashes. This is the platform to pick for live dashboards, Power BI, Grafana, Tableau and multi-zone layouts.
Minimum requirements
Windows 10 or Windows 11, Home or Pro (32-bit or 64-bit)*
Dual-core processor or higher (preferably quad-core processor or higher)
2 GB of RAM or higher (preferably 8 GB of RAM or higher)
32 GB of storage or higher (preferably 64 GB or higher)
*Fugo has been tested and confirmed to work on Windows versions as old as Windows 7, but those versions no longer receive security updates from Microsoft. For new purchases we recommend Windows 11, or Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC where you want a long, stable servicing window without feature updates.
Recommended & supported devices
Mini PCs
Probably one of the most widely available hardware platforms, PCs are found in most businesses and can run Fugo if the minimum specifications are met.
Supported and recommended for new purchases
Fugo Player - ships with Fugo pre-installed and set to auto-launch, on Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021, and can drive up to three displays - buy here
Minix Z100 and Minix Z97 - N100 and N97 class hardware on Windows 11 Pro, the best value option on this list
ASUS NUC 14 Pro and ASUS NUC 15 Pro - comfortable for live dashboards and multi-zone layouts. ASUS took the NUC line over from Intel in 2023, so new NUCs are ASUS-branded
ASUS NUC 16 and NUC 16 Pro - more than most signage needs, worth it for heavy BI content or video walls
MeLE Quieter 4C, Overclock 4C and Fanless PC Stick - fanless options, useful in enclosures or quiet rooms. MeLE's own storefront ships from China, so buyers in the US and UK may prefer their Amazon store
Beelink Mini PCs - buy here
Simply NUC Zircon and Onyx - quote-only, contact the vendor for pricing
We also support: Azulle's Byte, Inspire PCs, Arrow's Seneca XK-Quad, HDs and Element PCs, and iBase PCs
