What is the Fugo Web Player?
The Fugo Web Player is simply a URL - https://player.fugo.ai - that loads the same Fugo Player used on every other platform (Windows, Android, and so on) directly inside a browser tab. Open it, and the tab becomes a fully working Fugo screen.
It's a convenient way to try Fugo before buying dedicated signage hardware, to stand up a temporary or one-off screen, or to point any product that accepts a URL as its display source (a conference-room system, an AirServer receiver, a kiosk browser) at Fugo content.
💡 Good to know: the Web Player is easy to confuse with Fugo's Virtual Screen feature, but they're two different things.
The Web Player is a real browser tab that pairs to your account with a PIN, just like a physical media player would. A Virtual Screen, by contrast, is a shareable link with no pairing step at all - you generate the link in Fugo CMS and send it to whatever needs to display it. Before you begin
The Web Player is built and tested for Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, and similar all share the same underlying engine).
We recommend using an up-to-date version of Chrome - the player automatically detects an old browser and switches into a more conservative playback mode to stay stable (more frequent reloads, simplified video handling), so keeping the browser current gives you the smoothest experience.
Other browser families like Firefox or Safari aren't part of Fugo's officially supported browser target, so results there may vary even though the page loads.
What you'll need:
A device that can run an up-to-date Chromium-based browser - a laptop, desktop, mini PC, or a browser-based receiver like AirServer.
A stable internet connection.
A Fugo account, or a free trial, to pair the screen to.
Load the Web Player
1. On the device you want to use as a screen, open Chrome (or another Chromium-based browser).
2. Enter https://player.fugo.ai into the address bar and press Enter.
3. The page will load Fugo Player app and display a 4-digit pairing PIN. We'll cover what to do with that PIN in the next section.
💡 Good to know: keep this browser tab open and in the foreground. The Web Player only plays while its tab is active - closing it, putting the device to sleep, or navigating away will stop playback.
Pair your screen to Fugo CMS
Once the Web Player is showing a pairing PIN, connect it to your Fugo workspace:
1. Log in, or start a free trial, at fugo.ai/app.
2. Go to the Screens page and click Add screen.
3. Choose Physical screen - you're pairing a real, active browser window using a code it's currently displaying, not creating a shareable link (that's the separate Virtual Screen feature).
4. Enter the pairing PIN shown in the player window.
5. Give your screen a name and click Continue.
6. Add an address (if you want to be able to view your screens in Fugo's map view) and set the orientation if it's different from the standard landscape setting.
7. Assign any labels or custom screen properties to your screen. Click Save details when you're done.
Your screen is now paired to Fugo and will be listed on your Screens page:
Your screen is now paired and will appear on your Screens page, ready for content. Like any other Fugo screen, a screen paired through the Web Player counts against your license (Test screens are the only exception).
Manage content and screens
From here, you can start assigning and managing content for your screen the same way you would for any other Fugo screen. A few places to go next:

Where you'll see it in Fugo CMS
The Screens page
As long as your screen stays paired to Fugo CMS, it's listed on the Screens page.
Click the screen's card to open its details panel, where you can open its settings (Edit), restart it, screencast to it, or re-pair it.

Your screen also shows up in the screen picker when you're building a playlist - the step where you choose which screens (or screen properties) to publish content to:

Re-pair, reset, or remove a screen
Re-pair the Web Player
If your screen goes offline and you need to reconnect it - for example, after reloading player.fugo.ai in a new tab or moving it to a different device - go to the Screens page, open the screen, and click the wrench icon (Repair screen):
Enter the fresh pairing PIN shown on the reconnected player, and Fugo will re-pair it while keeping the screen's existing settings, playlists, and history intact. This option is only available while the screen shows as offline.
Remove the Web Player
To remove the screen from your account entirely, you can either select its checkbox from the Screens list and click Delete in the toolbar that appears:
Or open the screen and click the trash icon in its details panel:
Web Player vs. a dedicated player
The Web Player is a great way to try Fugo or cover a temporary need, but we don't recommend it as your primary setup for a permanent, everyday signage install. A purpose-built player like a mini PC or media player is generally more reliable, since it isn't dependent on a browser tab staying open, awake, and in the foreground the way a manually-opened tab is.
Built-in browsers on smart TVs are usually not reliable enough to run the Web Player continuously. If you're hoping to use a smart TV's own browser as a Fugo screen, we recommend a dedicated media player device connected to it instead - see our Devices & OS Compatible with Fugo guide for options.
Point other devices at the Web Player
Because the Web Player is just a URL, you can point any product that accepts a URL as its display source at https://player.fugo.ai - you're not limited to opening it in a standalone browser tab.
This is how Fugo's AirServer integration works, for example, and it's a useful trick for kiosks, conference-room systems, or any other interface built around loading a webpage.
